Rob Calvert
Founder & Principal

I began my career in production management and customer service within the publishing and pre-press industries, working closely with creative teams and technical systems under real-world deadlines. That experience shaped how I think about technology: it must support the work, not interrupt it.

For more than two decades, I’ve worked with creative professionals, business leaders, and IT teams across multiple states, time zones, and international environments, helping organizations make practical, long-term decisions about Apple-first technology environments. I’ve been an active member of the Apple Partner Network for over 20 years and regularly share knowledge with the consulting community through teaching, mentorship, and peer collaboration.

I founded Second Son Consulting in 2003 with a clear conviction: IT services could be pragmatic, honest, and built for long-term relationships. From the beginning, the focus was on clarity, education, and accountability rather than quick fixes.

More than two decades later, that approach still defines the company. We continue to work with early clients alongside many who have joined us since, applying the same principle today as we did then—technology should be intentional, understandable, and aligned with how organizations operate.
